BRONNA KAHLE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, April 15, 2021 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Health Policy was called to order by Chair Kahle. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Kahle, Meerman, Whiteford, Alexander, Allor, Hauck, Filler, Mueller, Beeler, Fink, Roth, Tisdel, Witwer, Clemente, Pohutsky, Stone, Whitsett, Morse. Absent: Rep. Neeley. Excused: Rep. Neeley. Representative Meerman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 25, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4089 before the committee: HB 4089 (Rep. Allor) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 7212 (MCL 333.7212), as amended by 2013 PA 268. Representative Allor, testified in support of HB 4089. Questions and discussion followed. Judge Jocelyn Fabry, representing the The Michigan Association of Treatment Court Professionals, testified in support of HB 4089. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4089, but did not wish to speak: Christine Shearer, representing the Michigan Association of Health Plans. Brandon Lanyon, representing the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan. The Chair laid HB 4497 before the committee: HB 4497 (Rep. Paquette) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 2221 (MCL 333.2221). Representative Paquette, testified in support of HB 4497. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4497, but did not wish to speak: Chris Barnett, Supervisor, representing Orion Township. Representative Hauck moved to excuse Representative Neeley from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
