STEVEN JOHNSON CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, April 15, 2021 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Oversight was called to order by Chair Steven Johnson. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Steven Johnson, Outman, Hoitenga, Reilly, O'Malley, Wozniak, Brixie, LaGrand, Young. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Outman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 25, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4448 before the committee: HB 4448 (Rep. Steven Johnson) A bill to amend 1976 PA 390, entitled "Emergency management act," by amending section 3 (MCL 30.403), as amended by 2002 PA 132. Steve Delie, representing the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, testified in support of HB 4448. The Chair spoke to the proposed H-1 substitute for HB 4448. The Chair laid HB 4591 before the committee: HB 4591 (Rep. Roth) A bill to regulate certain provisions in certain public employment contracts; to limit severance payments to certain public employees and public officers; and to provide for civil fines. Darrell Siggers, a constituent of Representative Young and an exonerated prisoner, testified in support of HB 4617. Questions and discussion followed.
