- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON COMMERCE AND TOURISM REP. STEVE MARINO CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, April 20, 2021 9:03 AM Room 327, House Office Building The House Committee on Commerce and Tourism was called to order by Chair Marino. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Marino, Roth, Farrington, Wakeman, Wendzel, Martin, Cambensy, Cherry, Manoogian, Liberati. Absent: Rep. Whitsett. Excused: Rep. Whitsett. Representative Roth moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 23, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4641 before the committee: HB 4641 (Rep. Marino) A bill to amend 1992 PA 147, entitled "Neighborhood enterprise zone act," by amending section 11 (MCL 207.781), as amended by 2020 PA 3. At 9:04 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. The Chair handed the gavel over to Vice Chair Roth at 9:04 a.m. At 9:05 AM, Majority Vice Chair John Roth called the committee back to order. Representative Marino, testified in support of HB 4641. At 9:08 AM, Majority Vice Chair John Roth laid the committee at ease. The Chair returned to the gavel at 9:08 a.m. At 9:08 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. The following people submitted a card with a neutral position on HB 4641, but did not wish to speak: Aaron Keel, representing the Michigan Department of Treasury. The Chair laid a presentation by Pure Michigan before the committee. Dave Lorenz, representing Pure Michigan, gave an overview presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Cambensy moved to excuse Representative Whitsett from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Representative Wakeman moved to adjourn the Committee. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
