- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND MUNICIPAL FINANCE REP. JULIE A. CALLEY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, April 21, 2021 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Local Government and Municipal Finance was called to order by Chair Calley. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Calley, Bezotte, Howell, Alexander, Bellino, Marino, Berman, Paquette, Ellison, Sowerby, Garza, Kuppa, Cavanagh. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representatives Marino and Berman joined the committee remotely. Representative Bezotte moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 3, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4066 before the committee: HB 4066 (Rep. Fink) A bill to prohibit political subdivisions in this state from imposing certain restrictions on the transportation, possession, carrying, sale, transfer, purchase, gift, devise, licensing, registration, manufacturing, or use of knives or components of knives. Representative Fink testified in support of HB 4066. Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card in support of HB 4066, but did not wish to speak: Brady Schickinger, representing the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners.
