- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON WORKFORCE, TRADES, AND TALENT REP. BETH GRIFFIN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, April 22, 2021 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Workforce, Trades, and Talent was called to order by Chair Griffin. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Griffin, Martin, Howell, Farrington, Eisen, Sabo, Hope, O'Neal. Absent: Rep. Markkanen. Excused: Rep. Markkanen. Representative Farrington moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 15, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid the presentation on Economic Development before the committee. JoAnn Crary, President of Saginaw Future Incorporated, joined by Jennifer Owens, President of Lakeshore Advantage, and James McBryde, President and CEO of the Middle Michigan Development Corporation, all provided a presentation on Economic Development in Michigan and covered the following topics: Business Retention, Business Attraction, and Community Development. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Martin moved to excuse Representative Markkanen from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee; Representative Eisen moved that the committee adjourn. There being no objections, the Chair adjourned the meeting at 9:53 AM.
