JULIE ALEXANDER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, April 28, 2021 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Agriculture was called to order by Chair Alexander. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Alexander, Posthumus, Bellino, Rendon, Filler, Carra, Garza, Cambensy, Hope, Witwer, Puri. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Rendon moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 21, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4031 before the committee: HB 4031 (Rep. Kahle) A bill to amend 1974 PA 154, entitled "Michigan occupational safety and health act," by amending section 35 (MCL 408.1035), as amended by 1991 PA 105. Arika Sinnott, representing Representative Kahle's office, testified in support of HB 4031 (H- 2). Questions and discussion followed. Representative Filler moved to adopt substitute (H-2) to HB 4031. The motion prevailed 11- 0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Alexander, Posthumus, Bellino, Rendon, Filler, Carra, Garza, Cambensy, Hope, Witwer, Puri. Nays: None. Pass: None. Alexander) A bill to amend 1995 PA 279, entitled "Horse racing law of 1995," by amending sections 8, 19, and 20 (MCL 431.308, 431.319, and 431.320), as amended by 2019 PA 153. HB 4600 (Rep. Cherry) A bill to amend 1951 PA 90, entitled "An act to regulate the conducting of racing meets in the state of Michigan; to provide for the possession, control and disposition of funds held by licensees for the payment of outstanding winning tickets not claimed or demanded by the lawful owners of such funds; and to prescribe penalties for violations of the provisions of this act," by amending section 2 (MCL 431.252), as amended by 1998 PA 505. Representative Garza moved to report out HB 4599 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 10-1-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
