BRONNA KAHLE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, April 29, 2021 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Health Policy was called to order by Chair Kahle. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Kahle, Meerman, Whiteford, Alexander, Allor, Hauck, Filler, Mueller, Beeler, Fink, Roth, Tisdel, Witwer, Clemente, Pohutsky, Stone, Whitsett, Neeley, Morse. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Meerman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 22, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 18 before the committee: SB 18 (Sen. Zorn) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 17801 (MCL 333.17801), as amended by 2009 PA 55, and by adding sections 16188, 17820a, and 17820b. Shane Preston, representing Senator Zorn, testified in support of SB 18. Jena Colon, representing the American Physical Therapy Association - Michigan Chapter, testified in support of SB 18. Questions and discussion followed. TJ Cantwell, representing the Physical Therapy Compact Commission, testified in support of SB 18. Questions and discussion followed. Scott Fisher, Physical Therapist, representing Athletico Physical Therapy, testified in support of SB 18. The following people submitted a card in support of SB 18, but did not wish to speak: Sean Sorenson-Abbott, representing the Michigan Health and Hospital Association.
