PAMELA HORNBERGER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, May 4, 2021 9:00 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Education was called to order by Chair Hornberger. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hornberger, Paquette, Green, Markkanen, O'Malley, Beeler, Damoose, Posthumus, Camilleri, Brenda Carter, Koleszar, Shannon, Stone. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative O'Malley moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 27, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4728 before the committee: HB 4728 (Rep. Bollin) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending sections 2253 and 2453 (MCL 333.2253 and 333.2453), section 2253 as amended by 2006 PA 157. Representative Bollin, testified in support of HB 4728. Questions and discussion followed. Ken Guthman, Luke Babington, Reeya Mathur, and Aman Manchanda, representing the Walled Lake Shool District, testified in support of HB 4728. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Paquette moved to report out HB 4294 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 8-5-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Representative Camilleri motioned to reconsider the vote by which HB 4063 was passed. The motion prevailed 12-1-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
