- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE REP. JULIE ALEXANDER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, May 5, 2021 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Agriculture was called to order by Chair Alexander. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Alexander, Posthumus, Bellino, Rendon, Filler, Carra, Garza, Cambensy, Hope, Witwer, Puri. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Rendon moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 28, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4603 before the committee: HB 4603 (Rep. Bellino) A bill to amend 1976 PA 267, entitled "Open meetings act," by amending section 3a (MCL 15.263a), as amended by 2020 PA 254. Representative Bellino, joined by Jim Zook, representing the Michigan Corn Growers Association, testified in support of HB 4603. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4603, but did not wish to speak: George Quackenbash, representing the Michigan Cattlemen's Association. Joe Cramer, representing the Michigan Bean Commission. Mike Frederick, representing the Michigan Soybean Association. There being no further business before the committee, Rep.
