ANN BOLLIN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, May 18, 2021 12:00 PM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Elections and Ethics was called to order by Chair Bollin. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Bollin, Wendzel, Calley, Steven Johnson, Filler, Koleszar, Whitsett. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Whitsett moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 4, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Representative Wendzel moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 11, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4690 and HB 4691 before the committee: HB 4690 (Rep. Kahle) A bill to amend 1978 PA 472, entitled "An act to regulate political activity; to regulate lobbyists, lobbyist agents, and lobbying activities; to require registration of lobbyists and lobbyist agents; to require the filing of reports; to prescribe the powers and duties of the department of state; to prescribe penalties; and to repeal certain acts and parts of acts," by amending section 5 (MCL 4.415), as amended by 1986 PA 83. HB 4691 (Rep. Sabo) A bill to amend 1978 PA 472, entitled "An act to regulate political activity; to regulate lobbyists, lobbyist agents, and lobbying activities; to require registration of lobbyists and lobbyist agents; to require the filing of reports; to prescribe the powers and duties of the department of state; to prescribe penalties; and to repeal certain acts and parts of acts," (MCL 4.411 to 4.431) by adding section 7a.
