- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON OVERSIGHT REP. STEVEN JOHNSON CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, May 20, 2021 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Oversight was called to order by Chair Steven Johnson. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Steven Johnson, Outman, Hoitenga, Reilly, O'Malley, Wozniak, Brixie, LaGrand, Young. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Outman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 13, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Chair Johnson made remarks to the committee. The Chair laid the following before the committee: Testimony regarding Secretary of State appointment issues stemming from the decision to switch to an appointment-only system Senator Johnson testified before the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Senator Theis testified before the committee. Senator McBroom and Judi Schwalbach testified before the committee. David Rhoa, owner of Marana Group, testified before the committee. The following people submitted a card, but due to the time constraints were unable to speak: Jason Postma, representing the Public Safety Officer. Sheryl Hunter, representing the Canoe Renting Business Owner. Jamie Greene, representing the City of Richmond Council Member. John Cuore, representing the Us Against the Media. Tracy Darnell. Gideon Lowe. Fey Beydoun. Jean Claude Lambert. Dennis Neuner. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Steven Johnson adjourned the meeting at 11:54 AM.
