- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON NATURAL RESOURCES AND OUTDOOR RECREATION REP. GARY HOWELL CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, June 10, 2021 10:30 AM Room 307, House Office Building The House Committee on Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation was called to order by Chair Howell. The Clerk read in a letter from House Speaker Wentworth removing Representative Marino from the committee and appointing Representative Martin. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Howell, Markkanen, Eisen, Wakeman, Martin, Sowerby, Cambensy and Aiyash. Absent: Rep. LaFave. Excused: Rep. LaFave. Representative Aiyash joined the committee remotely. Representative Sowerby moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 27, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid before the Committee a presentation regarding PFAS by the Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, Michigan PFAS Action Team, and Department of Health and Human Services. Travis Boeskool, representing the Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, introduced the panel and gave an overview. Questions and discussion followed. Abigail Hendershott, representing the Michigan PFAS Action Response Team, presented and explained portions of the power point. Questions and discussion followed. Kory Groetsch, representing the Bureau of Epidemiology and Population Health, MDHHS, presented and explained portions of the power point. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Markkanen moved to excuse Representative LaFave from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
