Representative Mueller moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 8, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4719 before the committee: HB 4719 (Rep. Bezotte) A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled "The Michigan penal code," by amending section 316 (MCL 750.316), as amended by 2014 PA 158. Representative Bezotte, testified in support of HB 4719. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4719, but did not wish to speak: Meghann Keit, representing the Michigan Association of Counties. HB 4034 (Rep. VanSingel) A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled "The Michigan penal code," by amending section 552b (MCL 750.552b), as added by 1996 PA 232. Representative VanSingel, testified in support of HB 4033 and HB 4034. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid SB 408 before the committee: SB 408 (Sen. Victory) A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled "Revised judicature act of 1961," (MCL 600.101 to 600.9947) by adding section 309a. Klint Kesto, representing the Fraser Law Firm, testified in support of SB 408. Questions and discussion followed.
