STEVEN JOHNSON CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, June 17, 2021 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Oversight was called to order by Chair Steven Johnson. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Steven Johnson, Outman, Hoitenga, Reilly, O'Malley, Wozniak, Brixie, LaGrand, Young. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Wozniak moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 10, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4705 before the committee: HB 4705 (Rep. Meerman) A bill to amend 1976 PA 267, entitled "Open meetings act," (MCL 15.261 to 15.275) by adding section 9a. Bree Anderson and Jack Harris, representing the Michigan Department of Technology Management and Budget, testified in opposition to HB 4705. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Meerman, testified in support of HB 4705. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Hoitenga moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4705. SB 509 (Sen. VanderWall) A bill to amend 1972 PA 222, entitled "An act to provide for an official personal identification card; to provide for its form, issuance and use; to regulate the use and disclosure of information obtained from the card; to prescribe the powers and duties of the secretary of state; to prescribe fees; to prescribe certain penalties for violations; and to provide an appropriation for certain purposes," by amending section 2 (MCL 28.292), as amended by 2020 PA 306. Bryce Fisher, representing Senator Daley, testified in support of SB 507, SB 508 and SB 509. Questions and discussion followed.
