JIM LILLY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, June 17, 2021 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Rules and Competitiveness was called to order by Chair Lilly. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Lilly, Clements, Calley, Schroeder, Wendzel, Damoose, Posthumus, Anthony, Hertel, Sneller, Kuppa. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Clements moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 27, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4527 before the committee: HB 4527 (Rep. Albert) A bill to amend 1966 PA 225, entitled "Carnival- amusement safety act of 1966," by amending the title and sections 2, 10, 11, 17, and 20 (MCL 408.652, 408.660, 408.661, 408.667, and 408.670), the title and section 11 as amended by 2014 PA 163, sections 2 and 17 as amended and section 20 as added by 2000 PA 346, and section 10 as amended by 2020 PA 163, and by adding section 19a. Representative Albert, testified in support of HB 4527. Lisa Reiff, representing the Michigan Association of Fairs and Exhibitions, testified in support of HB 4527. Representative Clements moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4527. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Lilly, Clements, Calley, Schroeder, Wendzel, Damoose, Posthumus, Anthony, Hertel, Sneller, Kuppa. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Clements moved to report out HB 4527 with recommendation, as substitute (H-1). The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Lilly, Clements, Calley, Schroeder, Wendzel, Damoose, Posthumus, Anthony, Hertel, Sneller, Kuppa. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HB 4449 before the committee: HB 4449 (Rep. Berman) A bill to amend 1993 PA 23, entitled "Michigan limited liability company act," by amending sections 909 and 1101 (MCL 450.4909 and 450.5101), section 909 as amended by 2002 PA 686 and section 1101 as amended by 2019 PA 70. The following people submitted a card in opposition to HB 4449, but did not wish to speak: Marnie Triemstra, representing the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Representative Clements moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4449. The motion prevailed 7-4-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Lilly, Clements, Calley, Schroeder, Wendzel, Damoose, Posthumus. Nays: Reps. Anthony, Hertel, Sneller, Kuppa. Pass: None. Representative Clements moved to report out HB 4449 with recommendation, as substitute (H-1).
