- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ELECTIONS AND ETHICS REP. ANN BOLLIN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, June 22, 2021 12:00 PM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Elections and Ethics was called to order by Chair Bollin. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Bollin, Wendzel, Calley, Steven Johnson, Filler, Koleszar, Whitsett. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Koleszar moved to adopt the minutes from the June 15th, 2021 meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4837, HB 4840, HB 4305, HB 4425 and HB 4788 before the committee: HB 4837 (Rep. Lightner) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," by amending sections 509o and 509r (MCL 168.509o and 168.509r), section 509o as amended by 2018 PA 126 and section 509r as amended by 2018 PA 125. HB 4840 (Rep. Borton) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," by amending sections 811 and 847 (MCL 168.811 and 168.847), section 811 as amended by 2018 PA 603 and section 847 as amended by 2012 PA 271. HB 4305 (Rep. Steven Johnson) A bill to amend 1976 PA 388, entitled "Michigan campaign finance act," by amending section 26 (MCL 169.226), as amended by 2019 PA 93. HB 4425 (Rep. Green) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," (MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 685a. HB 4788 (Rep. Markkanen) A bill to amend 1895 PA 3, entitled "The general law village act," (MCL 61.1 to 74.25) by adding section 5b to chapter II. Representative Wendzel moved to adopt substitute (H-2) to HB 4837. The motion prevailed 7-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Bollin, Wendzel, Calley, Steven Johnson, Filler, Koleszar, Whitsett.
