- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ELECTIONS AND ETHICS REP. ANN BOLLIN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, June 23, 2021 12:00 PM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Elections and Ethics was called to order by the Chair Bollin. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Bollin, Wendzel, Calley, Steven Johnson, Filler, Koleszar, Whitsett. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Calley moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 22, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 303 and SB 304 before the committee: SB 303 (Sen. Barrett) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," by amending sections 523, 813, and 829 (MCL 168.523, 168.813, and 168.829), section 523 as amended by 2018 PA 129 and sections 813 and 829 as amended by 2018 PA 603. SB 304 (Sen. VanderWall) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," by amending sections 523a and 813 (MCL 168.523a and 168.813), as amended by 2018 PA 603. Ron Kendall, representing the Office of Senator Barrett, testified in support of SB 303 and SB 304. Questions and discussion followed. Tony Buffa, representing the Office of Senator VanderWall, testified in support of SB 303 and SB 304. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Steven Johnson moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to SB 303. The motion prevailed 7-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
