STEVEN JOHNSON CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, August 17, 2021 9:00 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Oversight was called to order by the Chair Steven Johnson. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Steven Johnson, Outman, Reilly, O'Malley, Wozniak, Brixie, LaGrand, Young. Absent: Rep. Hoitenga. Excused: None. Representative Wozniak moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 24, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid the following before committee: Testimony on Issues surrounding the Unemployment Insurance Agency and unemployment benefit payback notices. Tony Paris, representing the Sugar Law Center, testified with no position on Questions and discussion followed. Emily Mitchell, representing the themselves, testified with no position on Lisa Ruby, representing the Michigan Poverty Law and University of Michigan Law Clinic, testified with no position on Questions and discussion followed. Alex Hill, representing the themselves, testified with no position on IIona Bilore, representing the themselves, testified with no position on Patricia Buck and Liana Handly, representing the themselves, testified with no position on The following people submitted a card with no position on , but due to the time constraints were unable to speak: Chris Gelarden, representing the themselves.
