HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORTATION REP. JACK O'MALLEY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, August 17, 2021 10:30 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Transportation was called to order by Chair O'Malley. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. O'Malley, Eisen, Howell, Griffin, LaFave, Berman, Carra, Roth, Sneller, Clemente, Liberati, Puri. Absent: Rep. Shannon. Excused: Rep. Shannon. Representative Carra moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 22, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid the presentation on Mackinac Bridge Safety before the committee. Lieutenant Colonel Chris Kelenske, representing the Michigan State Police, provided a presentation on Mackinac Bridge Safety. Questions and discussion followed. Safety and Security Administrator Eileen Phifer, representing the Michigan Department of Transportation, provided a presentation on Mackinac Bridge Safety. Questions and discussion followed. Director Kim Nowack, representing the Mackinac Bridge Authority, provided a presentation on Mackinac Bridge Safety. Questions and discussion followed. Troy Hagon, representing the Michigan Department of Transportation, approached to answer questions from committee members. Representative Sneller moved to excuse Representative Shannon from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
