HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ELECTIONS AND ETHICS REP. ANN BOLLIN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, September 28, 2021 12:00 PM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Elections and Ethics was called to order by Chair Bollin. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Bollin, Wendzel, Calley, Steven Johnson, Filler, Koleszar, Whitsett. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Whitsett moved to adopt the minutes from the September 21st, 2021 meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5258 before the committee: HB 5258 (Rep. Koleszar) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," by amending sections 565, 710, and 711 (MCL 168.565, 168.710, and 168.711), sections 565 and 711 as amended by 1984 PA 113. Representative Koleszar, testified in support of HB 5258 (H-1). Representative Koleszar moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 5258. The motion prevailed 7-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Bollin, Wendzel, Calley, Steven Johnson, Filler, Koleszar, Whitsett. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Koleszar moved to report out HB 5258 with recommendation, as substitute (H-1).
