BETH GRIFFIN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, September 30, 2021 9:00 AM Room 327, House Office Building The House Committee on Workforce, Trades, and Talent was called to order by the Chair Griffin. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Griffin, Martin, Howell, Farrington, Eisen, Markkanen, Sabo, Hope, O'Neal. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Martin moved to adopt the meeting minutes from August 19, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5115 before the committee: HB 5115 (Rep. Yaroch) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 20950 (MCL 333.20950), as amended by 2021 PA 25. comments Representative Howell moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 5115. The motion prevailed 9- 0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Griffin, Martin, Howell, Farrington, Eisen, Markkanen, Sabo, Hope, O'Neal. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Eisen moved to report out HB 5115 with recommendation, as substitute (H-1). The motion prevailed 6-3-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Griffin, Martin, Howell, Farrington, Eisen, Markkanen. Nays: Reps. Sabo, Hope, O'Neal. Pass: None. The Chair laid SB 445 before the committee: SB 445 (Sen. Irwin) A bill to amend 1936 (Ex Sess) PA 1, entitled "Michigan employment security act," by amending section 28 (MCL 421.28), as amended by 2020 PA 229. Representative O'Neal moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to SB 445. The motion prevailed 9-0- 0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
