- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ENERGY REP. JOE BELLINO CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, October 6, 2021 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Energy was called to order by Chair Bellino. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Bellino, Markkanen, Hoitenga, Reilly, Berman, Paquette, Martin, Outman, Roth, Manoogian, Sneller, Cherry, Haadsma, Morse, Puri, Scott. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Berman joined the committee remotely. Chairman Bellino laid before the committee a presentation by Reka Holley Voelker, Legislative & Tribal Liaison & Communications Section Manager for the Michigan Public Service Commission. Reka Holley Voelker gave a presentation on Reactive Power: Ensuring System Reliability, to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Chairman Bellino laid before the committee a presentation by Scott Pifer, Director of System Operations at DTE Energy, Scott Pifer gave a presentation on Reactive Power (VAR) to the committee. Chairman Bellino laid before the committee a presentation by Rick Blumenstock, Executive Director of Electric Planning for Consumers Energy. Rick Blumenstock gave a presentation on Reactive Power (VAR) Outlook, to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Scott moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 22, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Joe Bellino adjourned the meeting at 10:00 AM.
