- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON COMMUNICATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY REP. JAIME GREENE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, June 3, 2025 10:30 AM Room 327, House Office Building The House Committee on Communications and Technology was called to order by Chair Jaime Greene. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Jaime Greene, Kunse, Wendzel, Schmaltz, Schriver, Fairbairn, Linting, Andrews and Skaggs. Absent: Reps. Scott and Arbit. Excused: Reps. Scott and Arbit. Representative Kunse moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 20, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The chair laid a presentation from the Michigan State Police Intelligence Division before the committee. Captain Liz Rich, MSP Intelligence Division Commander and Inspector Stephen Borello, Assistant Commander for MSP Intelligence Division, gave a presentation on the Michigan State Police regarding the topic of cyber security. Questions and discussion followed. The chair laid a presentation from the Michigan Office of Defense and Aerospace Innovation before the committee. Ret. Col. John Gutierez, Executive Director of the Office of Defense and Aerospace Innovation, and Jeanne Schabath-Lewis, Stakeholder Engagement Officer for the Michigan Office of Defense and Aerospace Innovation, gave a presentation on the importance and impact of cybersecurity certifications. Questions and discussion followed. The chair invited Karen Arondoski, President, and owner of I.F. Metalworks to give a presentation on the importance of cybersecurity in her industry. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Andrews moved to excuse Representatives Scott and Arbit from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
