- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON OVERSIGHT REP. JAY DEBOYER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Oversight was called to order by Chair DeBoyer. The Clerk read a letter dated January 30th, 2025, from House Speaker Matt Hall, which appointed members of the Committee on Oversight. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. DeBoyer, Bierlein, Meerman, Paquette, Carra, Bruck, Jaime Greene, Rigas, Schriver, Woolford, Miller, Pohutsky, Conlin, MacDonell, Mentzer, Tsernoglou and Wegela. Absent: None. Excused: None. Chair DeBoyer gave remarks on the significance of the Michigan Veterans Room, Room 352 of the Capitol Building. Chair DeBoyer stated that the House Committee on Oversight will follow the Uniform Committee Rules, stated in the House Standing Rules, that were adopted on the House Floor. Chair DeBoyer offered the following proposed committee rule: At the discretion of the committee chair, a member of the public may address the committee regarding business before the committee. The committee may accept written testimony in lieu oral testimony. Representative Bierlein moved to adopt the proposed committee rule. The motion prevailed 16- 0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. DeBoyer, Bierlein, Meerman, Paquette, Carra, Bruck, Greene, Rigas, Schriver, Miller, Pohutsky, Conlin, MacDonell, Mentzer, Tsernoglou and Wegela. Nays: None. Pass: None. Tuesday, February 25, 2025 9:00 AM Room 352, State Capitol Building Representative Miller moved to adopt Tuesdays at 9 AM in RM 352 of the Capitol Building as the standing day, time, and location for meetings of the House Oversight Committee. The motion prevailed 17-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. DeBoyer, Bierlein, Meerman, Paquette, Carra, Bruck, Greene, Rigas, Schriver, Woolford, Miller, Pohutsky, Conlin, MacDonell, Mentzer, Tsernoglou and Wegela. Nays: None. Pass: None. Chair DeBoyer laid a presentation on the Michigan Auditor General before the committee. Auditor General Doug Ringler and Deputy Auditor General Laura Hirst gave a presentation on the Office of the Auditor General. Questions and discussion followed. Chair DeBoyer gave remarks on the House Committee on Oversight Website and Email address that can be used by members of the public.
