- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ELECTIONS AND ETHICS REP. ANN BOLLIN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, October 26, 2021 12:00 PM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Elections and Ethics was called to order by Chair Bollin. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Bollin, Wendzel, Calley, Steven Johnson, Filler, Koleszar, Whitsett. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Wendzel moved to adopt the minutes from the October 19th, 2021 meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4967 before the committee: HB 4967 (Rep. Paquette) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," (MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 689a. Representative Paquette, testified in support of HB 4967. Questions and discussion followed. Adam Reames, representing the Michigan Department of State, testified with no position on HB 4967. Questions and discussion followed. Kathy McClinchey, representing Pure Integrity for Michigan Elections, testified in support of HB 4967. Adam de Angeli, representing the Rescue Michigan Coalition, testified in support of HB 4967. Lightner) A bill to amend 1973 PA 196, entitled "An act to prescribe standards of conduct for public officers and employees; to create a state board of ethics and prescribe its powers and duties; and to prescribe remedies and penalties," by amending section 2 (MCL 15.342), as amended by 1984 PA 53.
