JOE BELLINO CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, October 27, 2021 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Energy was called to order by Chair Bellino. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Bellino, Markkanen, Hoitenga, Reilly, Berman, Paquette, Martin, Outman, Roth, Manoogian, Haadsma, Morse, Puri, Scott. Absent: Reps. Sneller, Cherry. Excused: Reps. Sneller, Cherry. Representatives Markkanen, Berman, Outman, Manoogian, Haadsma, Morse and Puri joined the committee remotely. Representative Reilly moved to adopt the meeting minutes from October 20, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4715 and HB 4716 before the committee: HB 4715 (Rep. Hood) A bill to amend 2008 PA 295, entitled "Clean and renewable energy and energy waste reduction act," (MCL 460.1001 to 460.1211) by adding sections 235 and 237. HB 4716 (Rep. Hoitenga) A bill to amend 2008 PA 295, entitled "Clean and renewable energy and energy waste reduction act," by amending section 5 (MCL 460.1005), as amended by 2016 PA 342, and by adding part 8. Representative Hoitenga and Representative Hood, testified in support of HB 4715 and HB 4716. Questions and discussion followed. Laurel Passera, representing the Coalition for Community Solar Access, and Scott Risley, representing Nautilus Solar Energy, testified together in support of HB 4715 and HB 4716.
