JACK O'MALLEY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, November 30, 2021 10:30 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Transportation was called to order by Chair O'Malley. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. O'Malley, Eisen, Howell, Griffin, LaFave, Berman, Carra, Roth, Sneller, Clemente, Shannon, Liberati, Puri. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Berman joined the committee remotely. Representative Roth moved to adopt the meeting minutes from November 9, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5286 before the committee: HB 5286 (Rep. Huizenga) A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled "Michigan vehicle code," by amending section 627 (MCL 257.627), as amended by 2019 PA 31. The Chair explained proposed substitute (H-2) to HB 5286. Representative Griffin moved to adopt substitute (H-2) to HB 5286. The motion prevailed 12-0- 0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. O'Malley, Eisen, Howell, Griffin, LaFave, Carra, Roth, Sneller, Clemente, Shannon, Liberati, Puri. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Howell moved to report out HB 5286 with recommendation, as substitute (H-2). The motion prevailed 12-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. O'Malley, Eisen, Howell, Griffin, LaFave, Carra, Roth, Sneller, Clemente, Shannon, Liberati, Puri. Nays: None. Pass: None. The following people submitted a card with a neutral position on HB 5286, but did not wish to speak: Ed Noyola, representing the County Road Association of Michigan. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 5286, but did not wish to speak: Trooper Travis Fletcher, representing the Michigan State Police. Mark Polsdofer, representing the Michigan Department of Transportation. The Chair laid SB 674 before the committee: SB 674 (Sen. Nesbitt) A bill to amend 2000 PA 403, entitled "Motor fuel tax act," by repealing section 10 (MCL 207.1010). Representative Griffin moved to report out SB 674 with recommendation.
