- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ENERGY REP. JOE BELLINO CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, December 8, 2021 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Energy was called to order by Chair Bellino. The Clerk read a letter from Speaker Wentworth appointing Representative Beeler to the committee on Energy. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Bellino, Markkanen, Hoitenga, Reilly, Paquette, Beeler, Martin, Outman, Roth, Manoogian, Sneller, Cherry, Haadsma, Morse, Puri, Scott. Absent: Rep. Berman. Excused: None. Representative Martin moved to adopt the meeting minutes from November 10, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. At 9:03 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 9:08 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. The Chair laid HB 5292 before the committee: HB 5292 (Rep. Slagh) A bill to amend 1976 PA 267, entitled "Open meetings act," by amending section 3a (MCL 15.263a), as amended by 2021 PA 54. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 5292, but did not wish to speak: Katie Abraham, representing the Michigan Municipal Electric Association and Michigan Public Power Agency. Representative Bellino moved to report out HB 5292 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 15-1-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Bellino, Markkanen, Hoitenga, Paquette, Beeler, Martin, Outman, Roth, Manoogian, Sneller, Cherry, Haadsma, Morse, Puri, Scott. Nays: Rep. Reilly. Pass: None.
