ROGER HAUCK CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, February 1, 2022 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Regulatory Reform was called to order by Chair Hauck. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hauck, Hoitenga, Bellino, Hall, Mueller, Wendzel, Clements, Damoose, Outman, Hertel, Yancey, Garza, Witwer, Young. Absent: Rep. Steenland. Excused: Rep. Steenland. Representative Mueller moved to adopt the meeting minutes from December 7, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5587 before the committee: HB 5587 (Rep. Hauck) A bill to amend 1972 PA 230, entitled "Stille- DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act," (MCL 125.1501 to 125.1531) by adding section 13h. At 10:31 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 10:32 AM, Majority Vice Chair Hoitenga called the committee back to order. Representative Hauck testified in support of HB 5587. Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card in support of HB 5587, but did not wish to speak: John McNamara, representing the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association. At 10:41 AM, Majority Vice Chair Hoitenga laid the committee at ease. At 10:43 PM, the Chair called the committee back to order. Outman) A bill to amend 2020 PA 220, entitled "Industrial hemp growers act," by amending section 609 (MCL 333.29609), as amended by 2021 PA 4. HB 5061 (Rep. Posthumus) A bill to amend 2014 PA 547, entitled "Industrial hemp research and development act," by amending the title and sections 2 and 7 (MCL 286.842 and 286.847), the title and section 2 as amended by 2018 PA 641 and section 7 as added by 2018 PA 641, and by adding section 11a. HB 5617 (Rep. Outman) A bill to amend 2000 PA 92, entitled "Food law," by amending section 1109 (MCL 289.1109), as amended by 2018 PA 92, and by adding section 7136. Representative Damoose moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 5058. The motion prevailed 14-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
