ROGER HAUCK CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, February 15, 2022 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Regulatory Reform was called to order by Chair Hauck. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hauck, Hoitenga, Bellino, Hall, Mueller, Wendzel, Clements, Damoose, Outman, Hertel, Yancey, Garza, Witwer, Steenland, Young. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Bellino moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 8, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4628 before the committee: HB 4628 (Rep. Hornberger) A bill to amend 1917 PA 273, entitled "An act to regulate and license pawnbrokers that conduct business in this state; to provide for the disposition of allegedly misappropriated property in the possession of pawnbrokers; to provide remedies and prescribe penalties; and to provide for the powers and duties of certain local governmental units and state agencies," by amending sections 8 and 9 (MCL 446.208 and 446.209), section 8 as amended by 2002 PA 469 and section 9 as amended by 2018 PA 345. Representative Outman moved to adopt substitute (H-2) to HB 4628. The motion prevailed 14-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hauck, Hoitenga, Bellino, Hall, Mueller, Wendzel, Clements, Damoose, Outman, Hertel, Yancey, Witwer, Steenland, Young. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Hornberger testified in support of HB 4628. The Chair laid HB 5701 before the committee: HB 5701 (Rep. VanSingel) A bill to amend 1937 PA 306, entitled "An act to promote the safety, welfare, and educational interests of the people of this state by regulating the construction, reconstruction, and remodeling of, and the installation of certain security devices at, certain public or private school buildings or additions to those buildings and by regulating the construction, reconstruction, and remodeling of, and the installation of certain security devices at, buildings leased or acquired for school purposes; to define the class of buildings affected by this act; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state agencies and officials; to prescribe penalties for the violation of this act; and to repeal acts and parts of acts," by amending section 1d (MCL 388.851d), as added by 2020 PA 45. Representative Damoose moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 5706. The motion prevailed 14-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
