HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ENERGY REP. JOE BELLINO CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, February 23, 2022 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Energy was called to order by Chair Bellino. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Bellino, Markkanen, Hoitenga, Reilly, Berman, Paquette, Beeler, Martin, Outman, Roth, Manoogian, Sneller, Cherry, Haadsma, Puri, Scott. Absent: Rep. Morse. Excused: Rep. Morse. Representatives Berman, Manoogian and Puri joined the committee remotely. Representative Beeler moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 16, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5761 before the committee: HB 5761 (Rep. Tisdel) A bill to amend 2010 PA 270, entitled "Property assessed clean energy act," by amending section 15 (MCL 460.945). Representative Tisdel testified in support of HB 5761. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 5761, but did not wish to speak: Cliff Kellogg, representing C-Pace Alliance. Laura Sherman, representing the Michigan EIBC. Ed Rivet, representing the Conservative Energy Forum. Hallie Fox, representing the Michigan League of Conservation Voters. Chairman Bellino laid before the committee a presentation on energy storage. Commissioner Katherine Peretick, representing the Michigan Public Service Commission, gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Angela Wojtowicz, Vice President of Business Planning and Development for DTE, gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Markkanen moved to excuse Representative Morse from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
