HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON OVERSIGHT REP. STEVEN JOHNSON CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, March 3, 2022 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Oversight was called to order by Chair Steven Johnson. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Steven Johnson, Outman, Hoitenga, Reilly, Yaroch, O'Malley, Brixie, LaGrand, Young. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Outman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 24, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. At 10:30 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 10:31 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. The Chair laid HB 5664 before the committee: HB 5664 (Rep. Fink) A bill to amend 1936 (Ex Sess) PA 1, entitled "Michigan employment security act," by amending section 9 (MCL 421.9). Representative O'Malley moved to report out HB 5664 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 6-2-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Steven Johnson, Outman, Hoitenga, Reilly, Yaroch, O'Malley. Nays: Reps. Brixie, Young. Pass: None. The following person submitted a card in opposition to HB 5664, but did not wish to speak: Rachael Wineland, representing the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency. The Chair laid before the committee the Discussion with MIOSHA Director Bart Pickelman. MIOSHA Director Bart Pickelman testified to the issues the committee has been discussing regarding MIOSHA. Questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Steven Johnson adjourned the meeting at 11:55 AM.
