PAMELA HORNBERGER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, March 8, 2022 9:00 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Education was called to order by Chair Hornberger. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hornberger, Paquette, Green, Markkanen, O'Malley, Beeler, Damoose, Posthumus, Camilleri, Brenda Carter, Koleszar, Shannon, Stone. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Damoose moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 1, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HR 210 before the committee: HR 210 (Rep. Outman) A resolution to affirm our commitment to the inalienable rights of parents to direct the education of their children. Representative Paquette moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HR 210. The motion prevailed 7- 5-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hornberger, Paquette, Green, Markkanen, O'Malley, Beeler, Damoose. Nays: Reps. Camilleri, Brenda Carter, Koleszar, Shannon, Stone. Pass: None. Representative Outman testified in support of HR 210. Questions and discussion followed. Paquette) A bill to amend 1979 PA 94, entitled "The state school aid act of 1979," by amending section 104b (MCL 388.1704b), as amended by 2018 PA 265.
