ROGER HAUCK CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, March 15, 2022 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Regulatory Reform was called to order by Chair Hauck. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hauck, Hoitenga, Bellino, Hall, Mueller, Wendzel, Clements, Damoose, Outman, Hertel, Yancey, Witwer, Steenland, Young. Absent: Rep. Garza. Excused: Rep. Garza. Representative Bellino moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 8, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. At 10:35 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 10:39 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. The Chair laid HB 5695, HB 5696 and HB 5726 before the committee: HB 5695 (Rep. Wendzel) A bill to amend 1998 PA 58, entitled "Michigan liquor control code of 1998," by amending section 707 (MCL 436.1707), as amended by 2008 PA 11. HB 5696 (Rep. Young) A bill to amend 1998 PA 58, entitled "Michigan liquor control code of 1998," by amending section 502 (MCL 436.1502), as amended by 2020 PA 112. HB 5726 (Rep. Outman) A bill to amend 1978 PA 90, entitled "Youth employment standards act," by amending section 15 (MCL 409.115). Representative Hertel moved to report out HB 5695 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 14-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hauck, Hoitenga, Bellino, Hall, Mueller, Wendzel, Clements, Damoose, Outman, Hertel, Yancey, Witwer, Steenland, Young. Nays: None. The following people submitted a card with a neutral position on HB 5695 and HB 5696, but did not wish to speak: David Marvin, representing the Michigan Liquor Control Commission. The following people submitted a card in opposition to HB 5695 and HB 5696, but did not wish to speak: Mike Tobias, representing the Michigan Alcohol Policy Promoting Health Safety. The Chair laid HB 5871 before the committee: HB 5871 (Rep. Hauck) A bill to amend 2016 PA 281, entitled "Medical marihuana facilities licensing act," by amending sections 502 and 504 (MCL 333.27502 and 333.27504), section 502 as amended by 2018 PA 648 and section 504 as amended by 2018 PA 10. Representative Mueller moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 5871. The motion prevailed 14-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Representative Hertel moved to excuse Representative Garza from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Hauck adjourned the meeting at 10:43 AM.
