ARAGONA CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, June 12, 2025 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Regulatory Reform was called to order by Chair Aragona. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Aragona, Fairbairn, Wozniak, Wendzel, Tisdel, Hoadley, Neyer, Rigas, Thompson, Linting, Liberati, Tyrone Carter, Witwer, Dievendorf and Grant. Absent: Reps. Whitsett and Neeley. Excused: Reps. Whitsett and Neeley. Representative Liberati moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 05, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4403 before the committee: HB 4403 (Rep. Wendzel) A bill to amend 1998 PA 58, entitled "Michigan liquor control code of 1998," by amending sections 105 and 603 (MCL 436.1105 and 436.1603), as amended by 2022 PA 226. Representative Linting moved to report out HB 4403 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 13-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Aragona) A bill to amend 1974 PA 300, entitled "Motor vehicle service and repair act," by amending sections 2, 13b, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 30, 32, 32a, 33, and 40 (MCL 257.1302, 257.1313b, 257.1314, 257.1315, 257.1316, 257.1317, 257.1318, 257.1330, 257.1332, 257.1332a, 257.1333, and 257.1340), section 2 as amended by 2020 PA 227 and sections 13b and 32a as added and sections 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 30, 32, and 33 as amended by 2016 PA 430, and by adding section 30a. Kurt Berryman, representing the Auto Dealers of Michigan, testified in support of HB 4549. The following person submitted a card in support of HB 4549, but did not wish to speak: Erin Schor, representing the Michigan Department of State. Chair Aragona laid before the committee a presentation from the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services. Brenda Jegede and Sophia Hines, representing the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Liberati moved to excuse Representatives Whitsett and Neeley from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
