HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ENERGY REP. JOE BELLINO CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, March 23, 2022 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Energy was called to order by Chair Bellino. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Bellino, Markkanen, Reilly, Berman, Paquette, Beeler, Martin, Outman, Roth, Manoogian, Sneller, Cherry, Haadsma, Morse, Puri, Scott. Absent: Rep. Hoitenga. Excused: Rep. Hoitenga. Representative Berman joined the committee remotely. Representative Roth moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 2, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5878 before the committee: HB 5878 (Rep. Outman) A bill to amend 2010 PA 270, entitled "Property assessed clean energy act," (MCL 460.931 to 460.949) by amending the title, by designating section 1 as part 1 and sections 3 to 19 as part 2, and by adding part 3. Representative Outman testified in support of HB 5878. Questions and discussion followed. Juan Martinez, representing PACE Nation, testified in support of HB 5878. Questions and discussion followed. Keith denHollander, representing the Christian Coalition, testified in support of HB 5878. Questions and discussion followed. Leah Wiggs, representing Renew Financial, testified in support of HB 5878. Questions and discussion followed. Brad Ward, representing the Michigan Realtors, testified in opposition to HB 5878.
