HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON OVERSIGHT REP. STEVEN JOHNSON CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, May 19, 2022 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Oversight was called to order by Chair Steven Johnson. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Steven Johnson, Outman, Hoitenga, Reilly, Yaroch, O'Malley, Brixie, LaGrand, Young. Absent: None. Excused: None. The Chair laid before the committee the Discussion with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on the Adult Protective Services Audit by the Auditor General. Terrence Beurer, Cynthia Farrell, Tim Click, and Marie Shipp, representing the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, testified in regard to the Adult Protective Services Audit by the Auditor General. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Yaroch moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 5, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 6062 before the committee: HB 6062 (Rep. Coleman) A bill to set forth the methods for local governments and other governmental entities to provide certain public notices; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain public entities; and to prescribe the duties of certain private entities. Representative Coleman testified in support of HB 6062. Questions and discussion followed. Lisa McGraw, representing the Michigan Press Association, testified in opposition to HB 6062. Questions and discussion followed. Bradley Thompson, representing the Detroit Legal News, testified in opposition to HB 6062. Questions and discussion followed.
