JACK O'MALLEY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, September 13, 2022 10:30 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Transportation was called to order by Chair O'Malley. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. O'Malley, Howell, Griffin, Carra, Roth, Harris, Sneller, Clemente, Shannon, Liberati, Puri. Absent: Reps. Eisen, LaFave. Excused: None. Representatives Howell, Roth, Harris, Clemente, Shannon, Liberati and Puri joined the committee remotely. The Chair laid HB 6123 before the committee: HB 6123 (Rep. Damoose) A bill to amend 1945 PA 327, entitled "Aeronautics code of the state of Michigan," by amending section 80f (MCL 259.80f), as added by 2001 PA 225. Representative Damoose testified in support of HB 6123. James Linderman, representing the Emmet County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, testified in support of HB 6123. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 6123, but did not wish to speak: Detroit Regional Chamber. KC Steckelberg, representing the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan. Kevin Klein, representing the Michigan Association of Airport Executives. Troy Richardson, representing Gerald R. Shane Preston, representing Senator Zorn's office, joined by Mark Schrupp, representing the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority, both testified in support of SB 745. The following person submitted a card in support of SB 745, but did not wish to speak: Troy Hagon, representing the Michigan Department of Transportation. The Chair laid HB 6369 before the committee: HB 6369 (Rep. Harris) A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled "Michigan vehicle code," by amending section 606b (MCL 257.606b), as added by 2016 PA 332.
