BRONNA KAHLE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, November 10, 2022 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Health Policy was called to order by Chair Kahle. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Kahle, Meerman, Whiteford, Alexander, Allor, Hauck, Filler, Mueller, Beeler, Fink, Roth, Tisdel, Witwer, Clemente, Pohutsky, Stone, Whitsett, Neeley, Morse. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Filler moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 30, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Representative Allor moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 22, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 1055 before the committee: SB 1055 (Sen. Schmidt) A bill to amend 1987 PA 230, entitled "Municipal health facilities corporations act," by amending section 305a (MCL 331.1305a), as amended by 2017 PA 148. The following person submitted a card in support of SB 1055, but did not wish to speak: Adam Carlson, representing the Michigan Hospital Association. Senator Schmidt testified in support of SB 1055. Hunter Nostrant, representing the Helen Newberry Joy Hospital, testified in support of SB 1055. Representative Hauck moved to report out SB 1055 with recommendation. The following person submitted a card in support of HB 6380, but did not wish to speak: Marnie Triemstra, representing the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
