JIM LILLY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, September 15 2022 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Rules and Competitiveness was called to order by Chair Calley. The Clerk a letter from Representative Lilly, resigning from the Michigan House of Representatives. The Clerk read a letter from Speaker Wentworth appointing Representative Calley as Chair of the Committee on Rules and Competitiveness. The Clerk read a letter from Speaker Wentworth appointing Representative Harris to the Committee on Rules and Competitiveness. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Calley, Clements, Bellino, Wendzel, Damoose, Posthumus, Harris, Anthony, Hertel, Sneller, Kuppa. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representatives Clements, Damoose, Hertel, Sneller and Kuppa joined the committee remotely. Representative Anthony moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 9, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 6261 before the committee: HB 6261 (Rep. Wakeman) A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled "The insurance code of 1956," by amending section 2080 (MCL 500.2080), as amended by 2008 PA 513. Representative Wakeman testified in support of HB 6261. Representative Bellino moved to adopt substitute (H-2) to HB 6261. The motion prevailed 6- 0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
