- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS REP. BRANDT IDEN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, February 26, 2019 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Standing Committee on Ways and Means was called to order by Chairman Iden. The Clerk read the letter from Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lee Chatfield, appointing the following members to the Ways and Means committee: Representatives Iden (Chairman), Lilly (Majority Vice Chairman), Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren (Minority Vice Chairman), Byrd, Neeley, Hertel. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, Hertel. Absent/Excused: None. The Chair announced that the Ways and Means committee will follow the Committee Rules, as prescribed in Chapter IV of the House Rules. Representative Lilly moved to adopt the appointed meeting dates, times and locations of the regularly scheduled meetings: Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., room 352 of the Capitol Building. Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., room 519 of the House Office Building. Thursday, 10:30 a.m., room 352 of the Capitol Building. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: Yeas: Representatives Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, and Hertel. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair gave a brief introduction to the committee. The Chair laid HB 4061 before the committee: HB 4061 (Rep. Yaroch) A bill to amend 2001 PA 142, entitled "Michigan memorial highway act,"(MCL 250.1001 to 250.2080) by adding section 21a. Representative Kahle moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4061. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Representatives Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, and Hertel. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Wentworth moved to report out House Bill No. 4061 with the recommendation that the bill pass as substituted. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Representatives Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, and Hertel. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HB 4101 before the committee: HB 4101 (Rep. Frederick) A bill to amend 2018 PA 57, entitled "Recodified tax increment financing act,"by amending section 204 (MCL 125.4204). Representative Lilly moved to report out House Bill No. 4101 with the recommendation that the bill pass. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Representatives Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, and Hertel. Nays:None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HB 4119 before the committee: HB 4119 (Rep. Meerman) A bill to amend 1947 PA 359, entitled "The charter township act,"by amending section 13a (MCL 42.13a), as amended by 2012 PA 191. Representative Warren moved to report out House Bill No. 4119 with the recommendation that the bill pass. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Representatives Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, and Hertel. Nays: None. Pass: None.
