- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON TAX POLICY REP. LYNN AFENDOULIS CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, February 27, 2019 10:30 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Tax Policy was called to order by Chair Afendoulis. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Afendoulis, Lower, Vaupel, Webber, Farrington, S. Johnson, Hall, O'Malley, Schroeder, Yancey, Wittenberg, Ellison, Lasinski, Whitsett. Absent/Excused: Rep. Robinson. Representative Lower moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 13th, 2019 meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Jeff Guilfoyle, Deputy Treasurer, and Steve Bieda, presented to the committee regarding the Michigan Department of Treasury. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid HB 4006 before the committee: HB 4006 (Rep. Bellino) A bill to amend 1967 PA 281, entitled"Income tax act of 1967,"by amending section 30 (MCL 206.30), as amended by 2018 PA 589. Representative Bellino spoke in support of the bill. Questions and discussion followed. Melissa Seifert, representing the Association of American Retired People, submitted a card in support of the bill, but did not wish to speak. Rachel Richards, representing the Michigan League for Public Policy, submitted a card in opposition to the bill, but did not wish to speak. Representative Yancey moved to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection Rep. Robinson was excused from the meeting.
