HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS REP. BRANDT IDEN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, March 5, 2019 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Standing Committee on Ways and Means was called to order by Chairman Iden. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, Hertel. Absent/Excused: None. The Chair laid HB 4112 before the committee: HB 4112 (Rep. Vaupel) A bill to amend 1998 PA 58, entitled "Michigan liquor control code of 1998,"(MCL 436.1101 to 436.2303) by adding section 905a. Representative Leutheuser offered the following amendment to HB 4112: 1. Amend page 2, line 4, by striking out "develop and furnish the sign." and inserting "include the message required under this subsection in the sign furnished by the commission under section 701.". Representative Leutheuser moved to adopt the amendment to HB 4112. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, Hertel. Nays: None. Pass: None. Rep. Warren moved to report House Bill No. 4112 as amended, as substitute (H-1). The Chair laid HB 4066 and HB 4067 before the committee: HB 4066 (Rep. Calley) A bill to amend 1941 PA 207, entitled "Fire prevention code,"(MCL 29.1 to 29.33) by adding section 3d. HB 4067 (Rep. Calley) A bill to amend 1972 PA 230, entitled "Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act,"(MCL 125.1501 to 125.1531) by adding section 4h. Representative Hertel moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4066. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Jennifer Smith, representing the Michigan Association of School Boards. Representative Warren moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 28, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair adjourned the meeting at 10:39 AM.
