- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON INSURANCE REP. DAIRE L RENDON CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, March 21, 2019 9:00 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Insurance was called to order by Chair Rendon. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Rendon, Markkanen, Webber, Vaupel, Bellino, Hoitenga, LaFave, Berman, Paquette, Wittenberg, Gay-Dagnogo, Lasinski, Sneller, Bolden, B Carter, Coleman. Absent/Excused: Rep. Frederick. The Chair laid the presentation from the Institutes Griffith Foundation before the committee. Frank Paul Tomasello, Senior Director at the Institutes Griffith Foundation, joined by David Pooser, Ph.D, professor at St. John’s University, provided a presentation regarding an Overview of Risk and Insurance: Principles and New Market Developments. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Wittenberg moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 21, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Representative Rendon moved to excuse Representative Frederick from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
