HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION REP. PAMELA HORNBERGER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, April 16, 2019 9:00 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Education was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hornberger, Paquette, Vaupel, Reilly, Hall, Markkanen, O'Malley, Wakeman, Camilleri, Sowerby, B Carter, T Carter, Koleszar, Stone. Absent/Excused: Rep. Crawford. Representative Paquette moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 9, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Vanessa Keesler and Andy Middlestead, representing the Michigan Department of Education presented to the committee regarding the Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress. Questions and discussion followed. Kimberley Kraft and Peyton Rodriguez, representing the Northwest Evaluation Association, presented to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Lori Borkon, representing Renaissance Learning, presented to the committee via video call. Questions and discussion followed. Luci Willits, representing the Curriculum Associates, presented to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. The Michigan Department of Education returned to answer questions. Representative Vaupel moved to excuse Representative Crawford from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Pamela Hornberger adjourned the meeting at 10:27 AM.
