- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS REP. BRANDT IDEN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, April 16, 2019 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Standing Committee on Ways and Means was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, Hertel. Absent/Excused: None. Representative Warren moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 10, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HCR 0003 before the committee: HCR 0003 (Rep. LaFave) A concurrent resolution to call on the Michigan Veterans' Facility Authority to ensure plans for the new state veterans homes include designated smoking areas. Representative Lilly moved to report out House Concurrent Resolution No. 3 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, Hertel. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HB 4118 before the committee: HB 4118 (Rep. Slagh) A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled “Michigan vehicle code,” by amending section 627 (MCL 257.627), as amended by 2016 PA 445. Representative Leutheuser moved to report out House Bill No. 4118 with the recommendation. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, Hertel. Nays: None. Pass: None. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4118, but did not wish to speak: Eric Dean, representing Representative Slagh's Office. Trooper Nicole McGhee, representing the Michigan State Police. John LaMacchia, representing the Michigan Municipal League. There being no further business before the committee, Rep.
