- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE REP. JULIE ALEXANDER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, April 17, 2019 Room 326, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Agriculture was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Alexander, Meerman, LaFave, Eisen, Mueller, Wendzel, Elder, Coleman, Garza, C Johnson, Witwer. Absent/Excused: None. Representative Eisen moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 10, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Senior Director Shelia Burkhardt and President Ken Nobis, representing the Michigan Milk Producers Association, joined by Regina Kopera, representing Kroger Michigan Dairy, provided a presentation on the Michigan Milk Producers Association and Michigan’s Dairy Industry, and reviewed the following topics: National Dairy Quality Awards; Locations; Production Portfolio; Examples of Customers; Milk Donations; Top Ten Dairy States; Expansion Investment and Efforts; Constantine Plant Expansion; United States and International Milk Production Trends; Global Dairy Trade Trends; Milkfat Consumption Trends; and Current Trends Impacting Dairy Producers. Questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Julie Alexander adjourned the meeting at 11:10 AM.
