- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON HEALTH POLICY REP. HANK VAUPEL CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, April 18, 2019 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Health Policy was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Vaupel, Alexander, Calley, Hornberger, Lower, Whiteford, Afendoulis, Filler, Mueller, Wozniak, Liberati, Garrett, Clemente, Ellison, Koleszar, Pohutsky, Stone, Witwer. Absent/Excused: Rep. Frederick. Representative Alexander moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 11, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Representative Liberati moved to excuse Representative Frederick from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair invited April Alexander, representing the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association, to give a presentation on Pharmacy Benefit Managers. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair invited Larry Wagenknecht and John Gross, representing the Michigan Pharmacists Association, to give a presentation on Pharmacy Benefit Manager Issues. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid HR 0069 before the committee: HR 0069 (Rep. Vaupel) A resolution to declare May 4-11, 2019, as Tardive Dyskinesia Awareness Week in the state of Michigan. Representative Lower moved to report out House Resolution No. 69 with the recommendation that the resolution be adopted. The motion prevailed 18-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Vaupel, Alexander, Calley, Hornberger, Lower, Whiteford, Afendoulis, Filler, Mueller, Wozniak, Liberati, Garrett, Clemente, Ellison, Koleszar, Pohutsky, Stone, Witwer. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HR 0070 before the committee: HR 0070 (Rep. Rendon) A resolution to declare April 24, 2019, as Suits and Sneakers Day in the state of Michigan. The following people submitted a card in support of HR 0070, but did not wish to speak: Andrew Schepers, representing the American Cancer Society Representative Ellison moved to report out House Resolution No. 70 with the recommendation that the resolution be adopted. The motion prevailed 18-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Vaupel, J Alexander, Calley, Hornberger, Lower, Whiteford, Afendoulis, Filler, Mueller, Wozniak, Liberati, Garrett, Clemente, Ellison, Koleszar, Pohutsky, Stone, Witwer. Nays: None. Pass: None.
