- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON MILITARY, VETERANS AND HOMELAND SECURITY REP. BEAU M LAFAVE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, April 23, 2019 12:00 PM Room 307, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Military, Veterans and Homeland Security was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. LaFave, Mueller, Afendoulis, Markkanen, Jones, Chirkun, T Carter, Manoogian. Absent/Excused: Rep. Marino. Representative Afendoulis moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 9, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Representative Afendoulis moved to excuse Representative Marino from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair invited Colonel Raj Kothari, and Lt. Colonel James Matthews, representing the Civil Air Patrol, Michigan Wing, to give a presentation on the Civil Air Patrol. Questions and discussion followed.
