- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORTATION REP. JACK O'MALLEY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, April 24, 2019 3:47 PM Room 327, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Transportation was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. O'Malley, Eisen, Cole, Sheppard, Alexander, Bellino, Howell, Afendoulis, Sneller, Clemente, Yancey, Haadsma, Shannon. Absent/Excused: None. Representative Howell moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 23, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Assistant Director John LaMacchia, representing the Michigan Municipal League, provided a presentation on the Michigan Municipal League and reviewed the following topics: Makeup of the League; Member Services; Initiatives and Partnerships; Local Government Budgeting and Revenue; Pillars for Strong Communities; and Transportation and Infrastructure Priorities. Questions and discussion followed. Vice-President of Government Affairs Lance Binoniemi, and Executive Vice-President Mike Nystrom, both representing the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association, provided a presentation regarding Procurement Delivery Methods for Michigan Department of Transportation projects, and Project Warranties. Questions and discussion followed. Deputy Director Ed Noyola, and Engineering Specialist Steve Puuri, both representing the County Road Association of Michigan, provided a presentation on County Road Agencies in Michigan and reviewed the following topics: Project Development Initial Process; Process for Federal Aid Projects; and the Process for Locally-Administered Projects. Questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Jack O'Malley adjourned the meeting at 5:14 PM.
